Merry xmas

Room 4 would like to wish everyone a merry xmas and a happy new year. We would like to wish the Year 6's all the best next year as they head off to college. Most of the Year 5's will be back in Room 4 next year. They are looking forward to making Room 4's blog even better next year.

Well done Abbie

Congratulations to Abbie. She has been named Bream Bay junior sportsperson of the year. Abbie is the current NZ under 11 squash champion. Earlier this year she competed in the Hong Kong junior open.

She is also the 2nd ranked Under 13 girl in NZ. Not bad for a nine year old!

Here in room4 we have a buddy reading programme which enhances the juniors and the seniors reading skills by helping each other when they come to a word that they don't know. The juniors buddy breaks the word into chunks the juniors know and they sound the word out.

One day on Captain Kidds ship it was a nice day because it was a blue sky no clouds and the crew and the captain was just lazing around the ship.Then the sun was blocked from some big rain and thunder clouds. It was pouring down with rain and the thunder went boom!bang! boom. The boat rocked from the huge waves and the crew was frightened but Captain kidd said '' It's all right it's just rain and thunder'' BOOOM! the captain was scared. ''It's all right captain it's just rain and thunder shouted Rj. All night the captain shivered in fear but the crew slept like babies all night and in the morning the captain and the crew went outside and the storm was not gone and the boat was still rocking .In the middle off the day the storm was gone. For the rest off the day was fine and the Captain and the crew had a nice day except for the night ...... then BOOM! BANG! it was back with reinforcements CAPTAIN BLACK BEARD AND HIS CREW came to get them.They had a fight and Captain Kidd and his crew won. Then they had a party and they had a great time with out the storm or Captain Black beard and his crew.

my weekend with sophie

"Lets go lets go your going to be late for the surf club"I explained to Dad. So we put our clothes on and jumped in the car. I knew this was going to be the greatest weekend of my life. So finally we were able to find a park in the very packed town. Unfortunately Dad made me carry all of my sleeping gear through the town and everyone was staring at me. I was really embarrassed cause everyone was staring at me once I got there i was relived. Finally it came the time when we got to the part when we all hopped on the bouncy castle and Sophie and I were doing flips galore. It was awesome. Once we got home to Sophie's we unpacked and we got our bed ready. Finally we snoozed off to sleep. The next day Sophie and I went on the swing and were pushing each other round and round until we were as red as a volcano in the face. But the best thing is that she has these cute little goats they are called squiggles, nibbles and muffin and the mum is called angel. She looks angry but she is a great mum. After that my dad rang and I asked if they would let me stay one more night, but then dad asked if Sophie wanted to stay the night at our place so she did. April really didn't mind because if I stayed one more she would of had to feed 5 people and shes only used to feeding three so that wasn't a worry. When Monday came we went to drop off Sophie . And then about 3 hrs later ,Mum and Sam arrived and we got burger king for dinner and wine gums for pudding.
